Rock Solid Smart Lock

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Schlage Encode Plus has been a rock solid addition to my smart home! I like being able to create unique entry codes for all members of my family, and get alerts with the family member’s name when each code is used!
Being able to automate the lock/unlock feature has also been great so that I don’t have to get up and manually check the status of the lock at night!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fragile, poor battery life

4 have failed in some way.
Two no longer work by key (they are easily clogged with dust)
4 have keypads that no longer operate or light up.
One has failed entirely.
Only one still works well.
Cold weather seems to have caused some of the failures.
I will be replacing all 5 with normal, keyed locks.

I purchased this for our short to mid-term rental property, allowing me to program up to 100 passcodes. The integration with Apple Home is straightforward since I can use my Apple Watch to unlock the door.
Additionally, the battery life is impressive, lasting for around six months without needing a change. The keypad is responsive, and the backlight feature is a nice touch for nighttime use. Guests have found it easy to use, and I love being able to manage access remotely. Overall, this has significantly enhanced the security and convenience of our rental property.

Perfect Upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had these remote locks for sometime and when this lock company developed then”Plus” version I had to have it. The additional features made it a no brainer for me. Direct WiFi vs Zwave can’t beat it, less equipment to deal with. You would not go wrong with the “Plus” series locks.
