Reliable lock with good WiFi connecticity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed one of these locks on my front door and it worked well. I decided to compare with a Yale lock and it required a totally separate thread bridge router which can be expensive. I returned and bought another Schlage Encode Plus and installed it quickly and connected it with no additional hardware needed. I recommend it. The only issue is the keypad is dark when you start to enter the codes so you may incorrectly enter the code the first time. You can easily get it to light up by selecting the lower left check button, but someone new to the lock won’t know this. Small issue and the only reason I have it a 4 rather than a 5.

Good lock but…..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Schlage Encode is a solid, easy-to-install smart deadbolt with built-in WiFi, a reliable keypad, and the ability to manage multiple access codes without needing a separate hub. It works well with Alexa and Google, feels sturdy, and still gives you a physical key as a backup. Its downsides mostly come from WiFi dependence — occasional connection hiccups and shorter battery life if your network is busy. It’s a good fit if you want simple remote access and a dependable lock, but not the best choice if you’re looking for advanced automation or hands-free features.
