2 locks have failed in 2 years / weather issue?

This is my second Encode plus lock, both have now failed after about 2 years of limited use. The locks were installed on an uncovered back door which is exposed to the elements (heat/snow/rain) typical of the east coast of the US. It seems the lock can't handle heat or rain, as others have reported. Eventually the lock stops working, and won't pair ("unable to find device") even after multiple troubleshooting steps. eg soft reset, replacing batteries, performing multiple factory resets, restarting wifi, deleting / adding schlage app, deleting "home" and lock from app, etc. I've tried everything, multiple times, the lock just won't pair. Batteries are new/replaced, and there is life in the lock (blinky lights on outside at factory reset). But it just won't connect/function. It's not a weak WIFI issue - I have 600+ Mbps at the door it's installed.
Also for those willing to replace every 2 years - the white screen/lettering on this lock is really difficult to use. I have a third lock, installed in another location with a black face, and the lighting is significantly easier to use,
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Schlage lock to date

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installation was a breeze. I’ve installed Schlage smart locks in the past and this was by far the easiest. It’s a modern looking lock which fit right into my home’s decor. Connectivity has been great so far. No issues connecting to the exterior garage side door which is not exactly close to my router. And I love that it’s compatible with Apple HomeKit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lock worked great for a year. Now it periodically works and then stops working for a day. Then works again. If it continues I’ll have to buy a new lock and will be trying a different brand.

Effortless Set-Up and Works as Expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hired a locksmith to replace my front door lock so I’m unsure as to ease of installation, but he did recommend this lock and it was installed without a problem. It was very easy to set up using the app and works beautifully. The interface is easy to use and I feel very secure with this lock.

Excellent lock loaded with features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently changed my smart lock from a Schlage Connect deadbolt to a Schlage Encode Plus. The integration with Apple Home is a huge win as I can unlock my door with my iPhone or Apple Watch. The Schlage app works great and the interface is very intuitive. The lock installation was a breeze and I only needed a screwdriver! And of course the lock has the highest security rating as expected from Schlage. I absolutely love everything this lock does and if there was one more feature that would make it perfect is the availability of UWB along with all this lock offers.
