[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always had Schlage locks on all my doors. We recently had a garage addition and having the electronic keypad makes everything easier. No keys to carry & can open from anywhere if/when needed for guests. On top of that is the quality of the design & build. I always trust Schlage.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second Schlage smart deadbolt that we have installed. It’s a nice upgrade from our original lock. It’s very quiet compared to our first smart lock and the ability to lock and unlock the house remotely is a nice feature.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just installed the Encode. Installation was easy and the directions were clear. Connection to my WiFi took only two tries, which is OK. Unfortunately there is no information on how to program access codes into the keypad, and when I look them up on the site, the directions I got don't work. I can write HTML and basic DOS, so this stuff is normally easy for me, but somehow the guide's button pushes don't work, and there doesn't seem to be a full user guide or manual available online, just the Quick Start - which is no help. I have the app installed on my phone as well, but it doesn't offer a way to add more codes. We'll use the default until I can call Schlage and get help with this. We have another Schlage (non WiFi) smart lock and its install instructions had the info to add codes, which did work although the lock responded somewhat differently than the instructions said it would. These are great locks, well made, but you need patience and multiple tries to program new access codes.
