[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who values both security and smart-home convenience, the Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt has truly impressed me from day one.
Installation & first impression: I installed it in under 15 minutes with just a screwdriver — no hub, no wiring — and the finished look blends well with my front door. The keypad is responsive, the motor is reasonably quiet, and the finish feels solid.
Everyday use: The “tap to unlock” with my Apple Watch (via Home Key) has become a favorite convenience. With hands full of groceries, one tap on the lock and I’m in. The companion app gives full remote control: changing codes, seeing lock history, receiving notifications — all of which make me feel more in control of my home’s access.
Security & peace of mind: With top-tier BHMA ratings, encrypted WiFi access, built-in alarm for forced entry detection, and a trusted legacy brand behind it, I sleep better knowing this lock isn’t just “smart” but seriously secure.
Minor considerations: The keypad numbers are a little hard to see in daylight until back-lit. The tap-to-unlock works extremely well, but you need to get the phone or watch quite close to the lock for the NFC reader; it’s not “wave from 12 inches” mode. And if your scenario demands more than 100 guest access codes, you’ll want to check your requirements.
Overall: This is a premium smart deadbolt with premium features, and if it aligns with your ecosystem (especially Apple), it’s one of the best investments you can make to upgrade your front door in terms of both convenience and security.
I’ve been using it for weeks now and aside from a couple of small quirks, I’ve had zero problems — and that goes a long way in the “set and forget” world of home-tech. If I were rating it: 5 out of 5 (with a little note: “check the keypad visibility and code-limit if your needs are extreme”).
Do I think it’s worth the money? Absolutely — for the right home and user profile.

Great features all around

I love the Bluetooth feature as well. I can easily check from my phone if I forgot to lock the door or not or can unlock the door as I’m approaching it if my hands are full.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the product looks and functional such as the movement alarm and scheduled locking through an easy to navigate app that works with iphone and androids,so you never will forget to lock the door at bed time however it was a little frustrating to get the wifi connection to work we will see how it holds up in the long run

The app connection is smooth and reliable, and the auto-lock feature gives great peace of mind. The build quality feels solid and durable, and it looks sleek on the door — modern and clean, not bulky like some others.
