It's worth every penny you pay for it. It's much quicker to brush and you can easily get to the places that can be difficult to brush.It addition, it does a great job flossing.

Major improvement would be the ability to use one button (instead of two) to start/stop brushing and flossing together. Very unwieldy to keep fingers on two buttons during entire process. Otherwise than that, love it...

I performed an experiment to test the efficacy of this Waterpik: first, I brushed my teeth as I normally do, flossed and then used this device. Before using it I closed the lavatory sink drain. After its use I could see food particles, especially small bits of carrot, in the sink. To me this proved the efficacy of this dental hygiene product.

Hello there - We are sorry that you are having this difficulty. The SF-04 model does need to be primed before first use. To prime the unit, fill the reservoir with warm water and replace it ÿrmly on the base. Point tip into the sink. Press the FLOSS button. I like that it is 2 machines in 1. It takes up a lot less space on my counter. The water flosser is stronger than my previous water flosser. It seems like it does a better job than my previous sonic toothbrush.
