I enjoy my Dyson for the most part except for the part of having to hold the start button the entire time you are vacuuming. having some Arthritis in my hands makes it somewhat difficult to maneuver.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hugely dissapointed

While som aspects are a real improvement on my old V8, a couple of changes are huge handicaps, one so bad I think I'm going to have to buy something else, instead.
The cons: It's too heavy. It hurts my for arm to vac with it. I can't do the whole of my lounge in one go because of the strain. I'm a small woman, but no smaller than 25% of American women, and I'm not particularly frail. Ive never had a problem with a vacuum cleaner before, so I I find this an unacceptable design choice on Dyson's part.
The other negative change is that you have to remove the attachments to empty the bin. On previous models I've owned you just picked the vac up over your trash can and pulled the lever, put this one the hatch that opens is where the attachments plug in. The machine won't let you open the hatch with the attachments plugged in (and it would be difficult to do so and empty over a trash can for the larger attachments anyway. This is far more cumbersome than the previous Dyson's I've had.
The good - it's more powerful. I believe the battery will last longer, but it's too heavy for me to test that theory as I can't vac with it for long enough. Similarly the bin seems bigger so won't need emptying mid-vac so much but, again, I haven't been able to test that theory. I find the hair detangler seems to work - which I really like!
Other upgrades like the light that shows you dirt on hard surfaces seem gimmicky to me and I haven't found them useful.

I have a rug free 3100 sq. ft home. I live with my cousin and 3 dogs. This vacuum is my 3rd Dyson. It's my least favorite...take into consideration the cost and it is NOT worth it. I used the fluffy head. I have to go over the same areas so many times the battery wears out in one room!!! It's top heavy and the fact that you have to continously push the on button is a REAL drag!!! I hate that it cannot stand up on it's own...real pain!! I used the power head a couple times and since it does not have a light, i can only imagine what it's NOT picking up. It has good suction IF you constantly use full power mode but then the battery lasts me 1/2 a room completed. NO WAY is thus vacuum worth the money!! TOTAL disappointment!!

Terrible battery

This vacuum would be better if the battery worked. My previous review was denied publication by Dyson. I guess Blocking a bad review is more important to them than trying to resolve my problem.

We're sorry to hear that your experience hasn't matched your expectations. I'm not certain from your review if you've found the battery run time to be the source of disappointment, or if the battery is no longer charging or working at all. Your machine does offer three modes of suction power, and the actual run time you will receive will vary, based on power mode, dust level, floor type and the attachment/tool being used. Your Dyson machine will provide anywhere from 5-60 minutes of run time on a single charge.

Good vacuum in general, just not for husky hair

I enjoy the vacuums portability and ease of use however when my 2 huskies start shedding their undercoat... the vacuum struggles and can't handle the hair. Getting clogged every 30 seconds. Then taking a lot of my time, poking and cutting my finger attempting to pull out the hair from the small deposit hole is in the canaster. I would attempt to enlarge the hole but not sure how that would affect the pickup.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works so amazing BUT

I bought this about a month ago and it works GREAT… BUT every time I use it, it tells me I have to clean the filter and it’s pretty annoying. I clean it, let it dry and reinstall the next day and after I use it again it tells me I have to clean it again. I don’t think this should be happening often for what they charge.
