How are you able to use this in carpets?

Got this vacuum last week and I’m returning it - my experience has been awful
You can’t go over thin area rugs (ruggables that Velcro attach) without sucking the whole thing up or the vacuum stalling out and stop spinning
I tried it on regular carpet and same thing ….it dies out like it can’t handle it until you shut it down and start it back up
The laser light on my laminate flooring shows all the 3 dogs hair amazing BUT it doesn’t suck it all up- you have to go over and over and over it and it won’t suck up the hairs along the moldings like other dysons have
The money was not worth this machine - very top heavy also imo
Some great features but I’m not loving it
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry to hear that we seem to have missed the mark with several features that this machine offers. You will have three suction modes from which to select from, and we can confirm that on surfaces such as area rugs, which won't be fixed down to the flooring underneath, you may find that the lowest suction mode should be used, due to how much suction our machines do offer. It's also unusual to hear that you've noticed debris is staying behind when cleaning bare floors. The same would hold true with suction on that flooring - a higher mode of suction may be required there if you're noticing that things are saying behind after multiple passes with the cleaner head.

Worth the money!

I had an older version and got this one for Christmas. I love the different attachments especially the roller with the laser. You think your home is clean until the laser shows you all the debris. The vacuum itself it’s great and it came with a good number of attachments. My only issue is that it is heavier than my old one otherwise well worth the investment.

Great Vac But...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The vacuum is awesome. I love not having a cord. It does my entire house on a single charge unless I get interrupted and try to dust everything as well. I don't know how but this thing picks up my shedding dog's long hair without any trouble and without any getting caught anywhere but where it should...the cannister. No clogs whatsoever. And, it keeps stuffing hair into the cannister with no loss of power.
My only complaint is the setup was not at all obvious. Nothing seemed to tell me I had to install one of the attachments in order to connect the main tube to the vacuum. 20 pages of safety information in more languages than I knew existed but, one vague pamphlet of assembly instructions. The Dyson site only gave instructions for the V-15 Detect. The Detect+ is different in this regard. Thankfully, someone posted a 3rd party video on the internet otherwise, I may have tossed this thing out the front door and down the hillside. Now that I am through that, I love it.

Great product but…

I love this vacuum except that the clean filter light goes on after every use. This is very annoying and can’t be correct. Dyson needs to fix this and then it will be the perfect vacuum.

Exceeds my expectations! Love this cordless. This is my first Dyson and I couldn’t be happier. Fantastic pickup, easy to maneuver, gets under furniture. Can’t say enough about this vacuum. I don’t think I could ever go back to corded. Highly recommend

Good vacuum, but clean filter error message.

I received the Dyson V15 the other day and on the first time of using the machine I got the clean filter error message. It’s too bad because the vacuum did a good job cleaning. I ended up returning it to the place of purchase since calling Dyson regarding the message and after I saw other reviews with the same issue. I’m thinking of buying another with the hope of not receiving a defective unit. Poor QC on Dyson side for this item. Dyson should also make a power switch that you do not need to hold while vacuuming.
