Amazing vacuum!

I was scared to spend that much on a vacuum, however, I don’t know how I lived without it! I vacuumed our carpet with my new Dyson after using our cheap first ever vacuum. I filled the canister 3 times and only vacuumed half our living room! I felt absolutely disgusted that even though I vacuumed all the time, my new Dyson still picked up so much!
I LOVE THE LASER! It shows so much when using the hardwood floor attachment and my floors are looking wonderful! It picks up everything and leaves no scratches on our hard work floors!
If you are debating on this vacuum, I highly recommend giving it try!

poor design and battery life

I have the Animal and love it, but the battery life wasn't great so I decided to splurge on this model. Two problems that make this model unbearable. Problem 1 is that on to power setting it lasts about 13 minutes. That's less than my Animal, but the absolute killer is the placement of the exhaust ports. It seems like the engineers skipped two world testing. The exhaust is on both the right and left sides around the handle. On hardwood floors what this means is that the airflow bounces, his the ground, and scatters everything you are wanting to vacuum. If you have a dog then you are chasing fur bunnies. No way would I recommend this. Buy the Animal

This machine introduces several new technologies including our laser technology on the Laser Slim Fluffy head, which reveals hidden microscopic dust on your hard floors, a Piezo sensor which monitors and counts dust particles 15,000 times per second, which automatically adjusts suction power when needed, and a new Hair Screw Tool, which features an anti-tangle conical brush to capture pet hair, without tangles.
With regard to run time on this machine, that will vary from 5-60 minutes, and is dependent on suction mode in use, as well as the attachment. If you're using a motorized tool, run time will be less due to the extra power needed to power the brush motor.
Due to the machine's main body/motor being held relatively close to the hand, it's very normal to feel the exhaust while vacuuming. This is true on all of our cord-free models. Our upright and canister machines have motors within the ball that sits on, or close to the floor, so in using those machines, you'd tend to feel the exhaust at your feet.

2 Serious issues

This vacuum does a great job sucking up hair. In our short trial though, within 15 minutes of using this brand new vacuum, the Filter Clogged error light illuminated. I inspected the filter and it looked brand new, but the Filter Clogged error persisted. There are instructions for cleaning the filter, but it must dry for 24 hours before you can re-install it. This is a deal-breaker.
The other serious problem is, the dust canister gets so clogged with hair that it doesn’t dump properly. I literally had to use my electric vacuum with a crevise device to suck out the debris. Major pain and if you do not have another vacuum, you are out of luck.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don’t waste your money. This didn’t work right out of the box and I am returning it. “Airways clogged” warning came up the instant it was turned on, the first time.
I bought this a month ago and glad I did. For a cordless vacuum it’s great for in betweens. I have 2 dogs and still need to use my big sweeper for a deeper clean. However it’s heaven on staircases and vehicles.
I would recommend this to a friend!

V15 Detect Absolute doesn’t work on carpet

I’ve had and pretty much lived out V8 Animal for a few years now but it had issues with medium pile carpet. It would only rotate brush on low power mode and/or pulling backwards only. We looked at this V15 because it had more power and hopefully worked better on carpet. Well it is worse. It won’t work at all on low power or High/boost or Auto mode backwards or forwards. There’s lots of suction but brush motor won’t rotate rendering it’s cleaning useless. Very disappointed and I don’t know how anyone is satisfied with this thing. The delay on when you press trigger and how the motor keeps running for 1-2 seconds after remarks is annoying and if you accidentally picked up something you didn’t want to vacuum up it would be too late because of this.
Also annoying is the collection bin. If you use to pick up pet hair which it does an amazing job (like except brush motor head) the hair just sticks to the bin and you have to literally stick your hand in the bin and pull it out. This is a big fail.
