Disappointed in power / size of canister - Pluses

A lot of hoopla over this new vacuum— I have to empty it after less then a minute of vacuuming and the boost, which is what I need, last just a few minutes. I thought this was the next best thing? Really disappointed regardless. I have 2 Ball style and wish I had some of the features this V15 has on that.—
I did increase the rating because I do like hair detangle comb— wish all the machines had that — and I do value the laser option.. that does help but this needs a larger canister and more battery power for the boost.. it’s sold for hair and hair clings to things and even gets stuck in fabrics.. on the hardwood floor it works like it should.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Tom, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you're not having a better experience with your new V15 Detect+. This model does have a 0.20 gallon dust bin capacity, which is a bit larger than on older models we carry. I can also confirm that when using boost mode, run time is significantly shorter than while using other modes. Boost is intended for larger debris or more stubborn messes, and we would not expect that this level of suction is needed for everyday household cleaning. When using the high torque cleaner head in Auto Mode, the DLS (dynamic load sensor) technology monitors brush bar resistance 360 times a second, automatically adjusting motor speed between carpeting and hard floors. There is also a slider at the front of the head which you can slide to adjust the bleeds on the front of the cleaner head, to help you adapt to different floors or size messes.

Greatly disapointed

We had an older model for 8 years and was very happy with it's ease to use and empty the container. This model requires you to remove the wand prior to emptying the container. It is difficult to do at best. My wife has to ask me to do it and I have tp tap it on the floor to get it to release. This model V15 cost a premium, twice as much as the other model we had. This is a case of a more expensive does not translate to better quality. Buy the models that allow you to empty the container without removing the wand.

It's the most powerful, intelligent cordless vacuum, featuring HEPA filtration, and two cleaner heads, engineered for whole-home deep cleans. The Laser Slim Fluffy cleaner head designed for hard floors has a laser that detects the particles you can't normally see - so you don't miss anything while cleaning. The Hyperdymium motor in the torque drive head spins at up to 125,000rpm to generate the most powerful suction of any other cordless machine. And, the new hair screw tool picks up long hair and pet hair, fast, with no tangling.
The inline construction of this machine does mean that you do have to unattach the wand, or any attachment that might be connected right to the bin, in order to open up the dust bin door for easy, hygienic emptying, with a 'point and shoot' system that makes emptying easy. We're sorry to learn that this was not your experience.

Not worth the money!

I bought this vacuum thinking that I was getting the best product on the market. This is not the case. It will not work on my medium pile rug. the whole thing just sucks itself to the carpet and stops working.

I decided to purchase this vacuum hoping that I finally found one that did have suction power that it didn't lose after a month or so. It was a lot more than I wanted to spend but decided to bite the bullet. Boy was I glad I did. This vacuum is awesome. It picks up so much more than my old ones did. And the more I use it, the less dust I have. The laser helps to find any I may have missed. So far I only have 2 complaints. First the laser light doesn't go from end to end, it only shines on one side and I wish it was a bit brighter. Secondly I wish that you didn't have to hold the button the entire time. There is no on/off button. My fingers hurt from constantly holding it down. For those two reasons I only gave it 4 stars and not 5. But if you have pets that she'd, it's a fantastic vacuum.

I can barely maneuver this in carpet!
