This is a second Dyson purchase, my first for this home. Have hardwood floors and Karastan area rugs throughout and this does a spectacular job at cleaning both. Just gave away my canister vacuum because I was tired of lugging it up and down the 3 stories of my home. I clean one Level per day so the 60 Minute battery life is More than I need on any given day. I could Probably do all 3 levels at once but I am not that ambitious. I am 64 y/o and I still like keeping a clean home but was waiting for a Dyson I felt would work well on area rugs and hardwoods. My other Dyson, which I love: the slim profile my V12 is great for my tile floors in Florida. The V15 canister is easy to empty and the 6.5 lb weight is about half the weight of my old Kenmore canister. Know your needs and compare the models to pick the right Dyson for you.
Battery on Auto runs out in 16 minutes. Can’t even vacuum whole house. Roller attachment does not fit into vacuum stick and Dyson has not replaced it yet! I’m really disappointed! My old V8 was great and I thought the V15 would be a great improvement! VERY DISAPPOINTED! Considering returning the V15!

I've had the vacuum for about a month now and really like how it has been working. The different motorheads that come with it give me a lot of options to use in order to clean my floors in the best way. The hard floor cleaner with the green light that shows you exactly how dirty your floors exactly are is very neat and absolutely helps me do a better job of cleaning my hardwood. If there was one thing that I didn't love about this vacuum, it would be cleaning. Our carpet in auto mode can actually be somewhat difficult. We have a higher nap carpet at 3/4 of an inch and this seems to be awkward for the vacuum as it's constantly changing the suction amount from lower setting to a higher setting. When it enters the higher setting, it ends up being difficult to move the vacuum over the carpet because of how much suction it has. In low setting it seems like it doesn't have enough suction to clean it well enough in boost. It's impossible to move the vacuum so Auto is really the only setting that it's possible to have the vacuum on. Vacuum really does seem to do a good job. I just think it's not ideal for the type of carpet we have. I can imagine it would work perfectly for a carpet with a little bit less of a nap.
I just expected more from this very expensive vacuum, regardless of the attachment or the floor I'm cleaning, it shuts down and tells me there's a airway blockage, I've cleaned it more than I care to share and it still doesn't work.

Had the V12 and I loved it. The V15 has a larger canister and a longer run time which is nice. The problem with the V15 is that the suction is too much that I can’t even vacuum the carpet with the auto setting. I have to use on Eco. I’ve looked online and many others have the same issue. Something is wrong with the design.

Works well , it does what it does very well! but with a couple exceptions that really bother me. First it comes with one battery! Two would make it always ready to work. Second it needs a trigger lock so you don’t have to hold the trigger the whole time. A bonus consideration would be some kind of a 90° tool to clean ceiling fans.

I’m not enjoying my new vacuum because I had to send it back due to being defective and looking used not brand new. Guess this is how they do when you catch a sale price. Now I’m getting the run around on when I’m getting my replacement. Over a month now and I still don’t have my vacuum! This is unacceptable and will never buy another Dyson again.
