A rollercoaster of emotion

I finally took the plunge and bought my first Dyson product: the V15 Detect. It was expensive, sure, but had the materials, build quality, and features that would make this a staple in my home care.
After I unboxed it and charged it up, my high expectations were immediately exceeded by the vibrant screen, cool sounding motor, and suction power. Unmatched.
A day later I went to go do some more vacuuming and things were different; my particle count had gone away, the dynamic suction was notably constant, and the behavior of the menu was erratic, with the screen turning itself off randomly.
The base vacuuming functions remained, but less than 48 hours from purchasing the machine, I was on the phone making a warranty claim that would result in the replacement of the whole body unit. Not only that, but it would be a 3-4 week wait. Serious bummer, and super disappointing for such a quick failure.
Would I recommend this? Probably. Why? Because it’s worth the gamble for this level of vacuuming performance.
I would not recommend this for anyone who expects “price paid” to entitle them to “perfection.”
I’m hopeful that my replacement will not incur this problem. One star is for the remaining high performance of the vacuum; the other is for the excellent and patient warranty customer rep that helped me with my claim.

It's disappointing to hear that your machine has failed to perform to our high standards, after just one use. That's definitely not the standard performance that you can expect from this or any other Dyson machine. It's unusual to hear that obtaining a replacement part would take 3-4 weeks, however that could have been due to a stock issue. Having said that, though, we wouldn't expect one of our owners to wait that long to have a replacement part sent, so that you can properly use the machine. Excellent light weight vacuum

I bought this vacuum a month ago, and it works excellent for what I bought it for. We have cement flooring in our house and it picks up the dog hair excellent. I love the laser feature on the one brush head it helps you so much and picking up things that you cannot see in natural light. I have bought extension hose, plus extra battery. I am going to purchase the pet vacuum part of it. I have always had a Dyson and I love them, so I knew this would be a great machine. It has better suction than I thought it would. The only way to go is a Dyson.

Great vacuum

I bought this vacuum because we just put in hardwood floors. It is a great vacuum. Easy to use. Does a great job. Pleased with the battery life . Bought the charging stand because I did not know where to mount the vacuum. I really like the stand.

I always thought thought I was doing a great job using a swiffer each week. When I unboxed mine and used it for the first time I found out the swiffer was only pushing the dirt to another spot. The laser is great.

Best vacuum I have ever owned…and there have been many over the years! Lightweight, easy to maneuver, and unbelievable pick up. I will never own any other brand!!

Bought it a month ago. Warranty starts at purchase date even though it will sit on the box for 6 weeks!!! Should look at “My Pillow” and offer a longer warranty during Christmas season
