I am enjoying the new Dyson however, it is still new. I am hoping it will last longer than my past Dyson that only lasted a year and it gave out. Pricey for a vac but it works better than I expected.

Battery Life

Just bought but still learning. Right out of the box, after a full 3 hour charge, battery only lasted about 35 minutes on ECO mode yet they advertise 60 minutes... hmmm A good battery is the reason for the high cost right? I will be calling on warrantee soon.

It's only OKAY for me

So I actually received this item as a gift from a friend in Brand New condition. He is extremely kind and ordered all the bells and whistles; Pet Grooming Attachment Kit, Cleaning Kit, extra Extension Hose, you name it. I have several issues with this model and the kits though. The largest attachment (vacuum head) has no light on it at all. It baffles me that that is the case on a vacuum at this price point. We are trying to figure out how to add one ourselves to help us see fur on the floor. A light on the large attachment head to help see fur on the floor when not using the smaller green laser attachment head would have made a huge impact on our experience with this model. I would love to see the laser on both honestly. The other issue I have is with the pet grooming kit. You have to hold the trigger down on the vacuum while using it which is tiring and difficult when you are also trying to reach and groom the dog. Add on to that the attachment itself has a relatively rigid coil in the hose that causes the hose to keep trying to condense down while using it. The attachment brush itself requires holding down a lever like thing to get the brush pins out. Meaning you are expending effort to hold down the button, extend the relatively rigid hose, and also trying to press down the attachment head so that the brush is usable. This is just unreasonable to do while trying to brush an animal. I will note we did try ordering an additional attachment hose in order to lessen the strain while brushing that occurs when trying to extend the hose, but it was only a few inches when not extended, and maybe 12 inches or so when extended. Adding a separate always on button as opposed to the trigger function would also add great relief and free up a hand while grooming. The brush would also be less demanding if the pins were always out and you instead pushed the lever thing to release the fur off the pins. Hope they keep making improvements. Unrelated, but I am a huge fan of the Dyson heaters btw!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We can understand how it could be frustrating, or even difficult, when holding the trigger to power the machine with one hand, and then using the groom tool on your pet with the other. One thing you may find a bit easier, is to use the groom tool, and then once you have collected a enough fur in the teeth on the brush, you can then pull the trigger on the machine, to get the hair sucked into the clear bin. i have taken your feedback and passed it along to our design and engineering teams, however. It's comments and suggestions like yours that truly help us to improve existing technology, and design new machines and accessories, too.

I Thought the Laser Was A Novelty. Wrong.

Not gonna lie. I did not thoroughly read the description before buying. I’m a longtime Dyson user, knew I wanted a stick, so chose the one with the most available suction and bought it. I love our Dyson Ball, but at 17lbs it’s becoming too heavy for my injured elbow to use on 1600 sq. ft. hard surface and 400 sq. ft. carpet.
At 7lbs, this stick is much easier to use and I really like it for our LVP. I thought the laser was a silly novelty, but I was wrong. We have indoor cats and the laser found every little hair and litter pebble.
I do not love the stick for our medium to high pile carpet and area rugs, but am continuing to experiment with tools and settings. I will probably continue using the Ball for those areas. I kind of like vacuum tracks.

Laser Vacuum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The latest handheld has a laser feature that shows dust you wouldn’t otherwise know is there. It’s amazing how much you miss. It has an electronic indicator for suction, battery life and mode. The battery indicator is really helpful. The machine comes with all the standard attachments plus the laser head. It can also carry 2 attachments on the arm which is handy. It’s a little heavier than the earlier versions we have but having it run longer is the payoff. Overall it’s a great vacuum.
