Coming from an S3 watch to the S8 im disappointed that the battery doesn't last 3 days when my S3 lasted 5 days... also tried to use my S3 on my new S26 phone and it couldn't connect 😕. Just don't be surprised..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Issues with fitness apps

I love the watch but not happy with the latest software update that removed the display option to leave the last app on when it goes into screen saver. This was a bad idea, especially for cycling or running apps because now we have to divert our attention from the environment to navigate back to the app to get our heartrate or mileage. Somebody is going to crash or fall and sue samsung over this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Howdy Scotty, Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us about your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Watch8. We appreciate your candor as we make every effort to improve the design and functionality of our product line. Samsung provides a 12-month warranty on our products for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Your Galaxy Watch8 isn't all cogs and gears, it's wires, processors, data chips, and software! Just like with any other smart device, the watch's software and apps will need to be updated every so often. Luckily, you can update both whether or not you have a phone! If you encounter some issues when updating your watch’s software and apps, you can try rebooting or restarting your watch. For example, if a software update fails and results in a boot loop of your watch, you may need to uninstall apps or try factory resetting your watch. This method also works when an app fails to update, freezes, or crashes. Please feel free to check out the resources shared below to help resolve what you've described to be experiencing with your device. Thank you for being a valued Samsung customer. - Debra

Very responsive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the watch to take phone calls and get notifications for the most part. However. The watch is super responsive. I track my steps, sleep, skin temperature, and overall health stats on the watch. Galaxy AI really gave me tools to try to help lose weight as well.
So far I love my new watch it has helped me see how I sleep it is better at tracking my steps the battery lasts way longer and it charges faster than my last one so I am very pleased thank you for making quality products I have been a faithful Samsung user for years because there is no other brand of equipment that can stand up to me but Samsung!!!! I have tried them all i do believe and I will not ever use anything else!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Same as last years model
on April 10, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So the watch 8 is similar to last year's model watch and has the same processor. I didn't understand why Samsung used the same processor for and this years model watch doesn't have much at all for upgrades. I ended up returning my watch 8 and I think that I will stick with my watch 7 for now. Thanks Samsung
