I traded in my old Samsung watch for this new one. I wonder if it was refurbished because some of the tiles go "dark" and the data does not appear. That's the downside for which I will be contacting Samsung. Otherwise, the watch is beautiful and when functioning, functions well for my needs. The workout timer has been updated to include data like average heart rate, so that's nice. But other than that, the watch seems the same as my old Samsung.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Solid, well-built watch with a vivid display. The sport wrist band fits well and has a clever insert-under design that eliminates the tail. Simple integration with S25
The watch is fast, UI is responsive and display is amazing. But the design is a major downgrade compared to my previous watch 7
I would recommend this to a friend!

I’ve been using the Galaxy Watch8 44mm (Graphite, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth) for a while now, and I’m thoroughly impressed. This smartwatch strikes a perfect balance between modern design, comfort, and powerful health tracking — making it a clear upgrade from my old Gear S3 Frontier.
Right off the bat, I adore the sleek and lightweight build of the Watch8. It feels effortless on the wrist, even during sleep tracking — something I’ve grown to rely on nightly. Unlike the bulkier Gear S3, this one is so comfortable that I don’t even notice it while sleeping, and the sleep tracking has been surprisingly accurate and insightful.
One thing I do miss from the Gear S3 Frontier is the rotating bezel — it was such a satisfying and intuitive way to navigate. I won’t pretend that absence doesn’t matter, but Samsung has more than made up for it in other ways.
The screen real estate on the Watch8 is noticeably bigger than the Watch8 Classic, which is fantastic for reading metrics, notifications, and health summaries at a glance. This larger display makes interactions feel much more natural and engaging.
I also got the Athleisure band with my Watch8 — and I absolutely love it. It’s minimal, comfortable, and perfect for all-day wear, whether I’m working out, going about my day, or sleeping.
Where this watch really shines is in the health and fitness features. Compared to the Gear S3, the Watch8 offers a plethora of new sensors and health insights — from improved heart rate monitoring to advanced sleep and activity tracking — giving me a much more complete picture of my wellness.
In short, the Galaxy Watch8 is a fabulous upgrade from the Gear S3. Yes, I miss the rotating bezel, but the bigger display, comfort, modern design, and enhanced health features make this one of the best smartwatches I’ve used. Highly recommended!
