This watch is a Great addition to having a Phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy this watch for convenience when not having to carry around my phone in my hand 24/7, as well as keeping track of my daily steps...easy wear although it does tend to feel warm after using for an extended period of time on the wrist to touch. The Galaxy AI feature is an overall added bonus that I throughly enjoy!!

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with using the Samsung Galaxy Watch8. Your Samsung smart watch automatically tracks the number of steps you've taken while wearing it. There are different factors that can cause the watch's step count to be inaccurate. However, you may need to verify how your steps are being counted by Samsung Health. The accuracy of the watch's step measurement can be affected by the following factors:
* Make sure your watch and the Samsung Health app are using the latest software.
Environmental and skin conditions may affect how well the steps are recorded.
* Steps are not counted when there is no hand movement in the exercise. For example, steps may not be recorded when pushing a lawn mower or cart because your hands are not moving. The watch is intended to calculate real step counts while walking.
* Walk naturally without looking at the watch or your shoulders, elbow and wrist being raised. When you walk looking at the watch, the accelerometer will not properly measure your steps taken, distance traveled, or even calories burned.
* The step count may not increase immediately when walking or exercising due to the step count algorithm. When the algorithm detects 10 continuous steps, the algorithm starts to count your steps taken and updates the step count.
* You may experience a brief delay before the Steps app displays your latest step count. There may also be a delay before the Goal pop-up window appears.
* If you use the steps tracker while traveling by car or train, vibration may affect your step count.
You can test the step count performance by walking 50 continuous steps on a straight path. Walk naturally. If the number of steps are not recognized correctly after walking 50 continuous steps, your watch will need service. Feel free to check out, "Inaccurate steps on your Samsung smart watch" to help resolve what you've described with your inaccurate step count. Good Value, software update instructions could be

Having not worn a watch for many years , love the Samsung Galaxy Watch. Lot of great health features for tracking sport and health. Only issue I have had was the software update. The watch advised it was updating software but would never start the update. Finally updated after the battery completely ran out and the watch restarted. Needs to be in instructions for updating software.
Accuracy is a little off, the same walk can be recorded as 0.7 miles or 1 mile.
Hardly notice the watch on my wrist, ergonomically very good.
I have the display set to fit future which fits my everyday use very well
