Clips broke!!!

The clips that hold the battery pack in broke after only two or three times that I had to change the batter's in it! They should have made them out of metal or something that would help keep the nipples from breaking off after so little use.

I live in Florida and this is to be used if power goes out due to hurricane activity. I had two Coleman lanterns and one of them stopped working, so this is a replacement for the old one that doesn't work anymore. I have had these Coleman lanterns for at least 12 years and they have never let me down.

Batteries drain if left in lantern

When the batteries are left in the lantern they become drained of their power. Also, the battery pack is very difficult to remove from the lantern and open.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Battery is long lasting and when "low", can be recharged conveneniently, over and over with provided 110V wall charger. A great and long lasting (can be recharged so many times, to save money on new batteries, all the time. And, with recharger, on charge, lamp is always ready "to go", brightly, at moments notice and keep providing bright light for good amount of time.

they don't tell you it is not rechargeable until you open the box and realize you can buy for extra $$$$ the battery pack. I was replacing a rechargeable lantern that was discontinued so i couldn't buy a new charger
