LED light is good, Rechargeable battery bad

I have used this rechargeable battery light three times over the last year and it has been great compared to the propane and mantle lamp. I was getting ready for another trip and it was dead. I left the battery fully charged, yet when I checked it before the trip, it wouldn't work. I plugged in the 12 v DC battery charger in and it shows a green "Fully Charge" light, but only measures 3.4v. Since this is a 6 volt battery I think the battery is bad. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, a light that only lasts three times or is kept for emergency use will do me no good. I could always trust my propane lantern as long as I had fuel and supplies. There are a lot of products out there and I thought I could trust Coleman. Not too happy with this light. If it had a battery that lasted, I would love it!

Loved the lantern, hate the battery length

I really like how well designed the lantern was and how bright it was. The problem was the rechargeable battery. Right after the 3 year warranty the lantern wouldn't light and when tried to recharge battery, it showed a green light. I tried charging for 2 days and it still wouldn't charge or light the lantern. I expected the battery to last longer than that for what I paid for the lantern.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lantern works fine rechargeable battery waste of m

Bought this lantern for camping and bought the rechargeable battery pack and it worked fine. Next camping trip charged the battery the night before and went to use it nothing. What a waste of money.

Used it 3 times and then tried to recharge 'rechargeable' battery and it stays on 'Green' as it indicates 'charged' but will not work unless plugged into charger....

Bought a bunch for our Cub Scout Pack, and got the rechargeable battery packs too. While there are only two lighting levels: low and REALLY BRIGHT, they are good for what we need. Simple to use, sturdy and classic design. Very happy.

Battery holder dose not connect to lantern very secure. Lights flicker and you have to tap it to get it to work, just like an old flashlite
