Internet Connection Issues after 5 years

Nice streamline appearance. Worked great for 5 years and enjoyed looking at the thermostat for outside temperature. Now the thermostat states it isn’t connected to WiFi, when it is. I’ve reconnected to my WiFi multiple times, registered the thermostat (again), and still can’t use it. WiFi still works for every other devices in our home. Never had a thermostat fail after only 5 years until this one. Would not recommend.

Horrible

If I could give this expensive lump of plastic a zero stars I would. Here it is only 1 yr after install (with a full HVAC system replacement) and poof it is shutting down, meaning it goes blank on the screen and if it is in a/c cycle the a/c shuts down. And in order for it to start back up you have to take the face place off the wall and I count to 10 and put it back on. And you may have to be done several times to get it to work. As far as I can see there is not a battery to be changed and the wires are connected.
And lets not forget to mention the WIFI option is horrible too.... even though it is connected to wifi it still states connect to wifi or update at resideo.com. I HAVE DONE THAT several times. Very frustrating when you pay high price for a product to be this bad.

Hi AMS2313, we are sorry to hear about this. The screen going blank could indicate that your thermostat is not receiving enough/constant voltage. Please check the AC voltage between the R and C wires of have the installer of the thermostat verifying this. We recommend making sure that your thermostat is connected to a 2.4 GHz only Wi-Fi network. Our support team is available 7 days a week, just visit our Support Center link at the top of the page for ways to get in touch and someone would be happy to help.

Poor reliability
on December 29, 2023

The second thermostat (replaced under warranty (Jan 25 2021) failed today Dec 29 2023. There was no display on the LCD panel and my support electrician confirmed that the power was OK. He replaced the entire unit which is now working OK and the geothermal is back to normal. I really don’t like this unit but it appears to be the default used by my electrician. Also - how smart is this..? The wifi set up will only connect to a 2.4GHZ spectrum. Took me a while to figure as surely we are all using 5.0 GHZ by now? Honeywell needs to up their game I think!

Unit Will Not Stay Connected to WiFi
on December 23, 2024

Two of these units came in my new home as a part of a two zone system in (home purchased in October 2022). Stated having issues with the unit staying connected to the internet about 8 months in. Now, the downstairs unit will not reconnect to the network at all. Still functions as a thermostat but without WIFI. 8 months of service is too short. Terrible quality.

Temp. variance
on January 2, 2025
Posted by: bear1
Have this thermostat to operate my heat pump. When temp is set manually by me, the heat will run two degrees warmer than the setting. For example setting @ 69 degrees , but heater will run until temp. is 71degrees or if set at 71 it will run to 73 degrees. Could you possibly advise how to set thermostat to operate without the 2 degree variance? Thank you in advance for your help.
Response from resideo.comBy MariaTech SupportJanuary 8, 2025
Hi bear1, thank you for reaching out to us. The thermostat should only run your system until reaching the setpoint and then cycle it to maintain the temperature. The inside temperature should not go above/below the setpoint. Our Support Center link at the top of the page has all the ways you can get in contact with us to discuss where the issue may be.
