I've owned this thermostat for about four years. This thermostat is on the second floor and my router is on the first. It maintains a strong connection. I was happy to get another one today why my old Emerson thermostat stopped working. My Sister-in law has a non wifi Honey programable and she loves hers . Honeywell is a quality product. No complaints from either households.

Doesn’t hold wifi and is very limited for programming. No ability to reduce temperature while at work other than manually. What a piece of junk.

Hi frank69, we are sorry to hear about this. If the thermostat has a blank display we recommend you to check the AC voltage between R and C wires. If the voltage is between 20-30 VAC please reach out to the installer to have the unit replaced, this model has 5 years of warranty. If the voltage is not within that range, the HVAC contractor will have to check the system to verify why it is not providing voltage to the thermostat.

If power goes off or you disconnect power for service it will make you wait 1 hour to come back. Pay your service guy to wait. No way

2 went bad in less than a year

I'm a builder and installed two of these in a house with two HVAC systems. The setup was cumbersome, but manageable. Within less than one month, one of the units stopped reading the temperature correctly. It was off by about 10 degrees. We previously had non wifi enabled thermostats installed, and they worked perfectly. This morning, not yet a year later, (10 months almost to the day) the second one has gone bad. The temperature was off on that one by the same amount, about 10 degrees. In a vacation home, if the heat is on low, this can lead to frozen pipes if the discrepancy it this bad. After two bad units, I wouldn't trust Honeywell with this kind of need again.

Hi Reflections, we are truly sorry to hear about this. This is not what you should expect. Our thermostats use the ambient and radiant temperature for the indoor temperature display, so this reading may differ from conventional thermometers. To ensure the thermostat is displaying the correct indoor temperature, please verify there is insulation behind the thermostat wall plate, that there are no drafts within the wall, that the thermostat is not exposed to direct sunlight and that it is distanced from electronics such as TV’s and lights. It is possible to adjust the indoor temperature readings from -3 to +3 degrees form the installer setup.
So convenient to be able to change your thermostat from far away or check on the temp from your phone. Didn’t realize what a game changer this would be.
