Control?
on November 22, 2024

We just got these installed in our Retail store and I can't figure out how to make a permanent change to our temperature setting. Do I need to download the app, is that the only way to really control them? Help were sweating!
Response from resideo.comBy Maria, Tech Support, November 25, 2024
Hi Kate1982, thank you for reaching out to us. You can override the schedule temporarily or permanently, all this can be done directly from the thermostat's screen without the app. Change the set point and the select 'Temporary Hold' or 'Permanent Hold' and press Done. If you select the temporary hold, you can set a hold until time when the thermostat will resume the schedule. While using a hold, you can resume the schedule by pressing 'Cancel Hold'. Visit our Support Center link at the top of the page for ways to get in touch and someone would be happy to help guiding you through the thermostat features.

Best T-stat I Have Found for Humidity Control
on December 3, 2024
Posted by: Krtpworks
We recently replaced our split system at our home, and I was hell bent on getting a good T-stat that would help with humidity control. Our mechanical contractor salesman and our job foreman both said this Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 was the one I wanted, hands down. I did a bunch of my own research before agreeing to it, and I could not come up with anything better, and I was willing to accept any price point. It’s considered light commercial, and it does a beautiful job! We now consistently stay between 43% and 48% RH in the house even when the outside air temp is close to the indoor air temp with high RH, and this Mama is very happy with that! 😊
Also, I love the wi-fi capability. I can control it from my phone. And it sends email alerts too. It’s very cool!

Not reading wi/fi signal correctly
on January 9, 2025

I've had a little over five years now . It is constantly loosing the wi/fi signal causing the aux heat to run . When checking the thermostat wi/fi setting on the thermostat wi/fi setup it says it has a great signal . Don,t understand why that is ?

Works Well Going on 4 Years
on January 17, 2025

Our VisionPro 8000 has been performing as expected since it was installed 4 years ago. The filter cleaning reminder light is useful. Have not experienced any Wi-Fi issues and unit indicates good signal strength. Consider a WiFi extender if the signal is low. I never trust the WiFi signal strength indicator on most devices. I would buy this unit again.
What is really great is the remote control app that I placed on my iPad and iPhone. I like to control the fan, turn the unit on/off, and also to bump the temp up or down when in bed. A more extensive printed manual would be nice, like the displayed message today "waiting for update". I was looking on the Honeywell site here for information and accidentally discovered it's not waiting on a software update but the weather service provider is down/slow. After it finally got a download it displayed the OAT and Humidity as usual.
Also learned from an HVAC tech who was performing a Fall service that if you bump the thermostat up more than about 4 degrees the emergency heating elements (we have a heat pump) are activated. I should not have to learn how to operate the thermostat from the service tech. The manual's WiFi connecting instructions are good. Error messages and other troubleshooting in the printed manual would be helpful. Finally, the almost 100 character-long URL under the "Need Help?" section seems to be blocked by Chrome.
