Ok but could be better

We bought this for a vacation rental property so we can lock the settings. This way, vacationers can't mess with the setting and put a restriction on the range of temperature. We had an idiot who put the thermostat to ac at 55 degrees and froze a 40 foot line (mostly outside) in 90 degree weather. Hence we went for this thermostat. My only complaint is that the lock feature should be for someone who wants to change it from heat to ac or vise versa. Also, it would be great to create your own password (maybe you can change the password and I just didn't figure that part out). If you set it to partial lock so that someone can change the thermostat from ac to heat, it allows the guest to mess with the rest of the features which can cause problems. Really want a full lock with the option to switch from heat to ac or vise versa.

Very Capable WiFi Thermostat

I had 4 of these installed in May of 2020. Two control heat pumps at my lake house and the other two control conventional A/C and gas furnaces at my primary residence.
The smart phone app allows me to control all the systems no matter where I am and I have had no failures of any kind. Now, these thermostats are more complex to setup due to the extensive features built in, but it took no more than 10 minutes each for my guys to finish.
These units hold temperature much more accurately than the old mechanical ones and have a Circulation setting in addition to Auto for the fan which will run the fan about 30% of the time regardless of heat or cool operation.
These were professionally installed including the fifth common wire for power with battery backup and I have nothing to complain about. They work very well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Humidity not accurate

This came as part of a new HVAC system installed by a local company. I found that the humidity sensor in the VisionPro is always inaccurate by +20-30 % RH. This problem makes the dehumidification control useless.

Randomly changes the temperature, difficult to pro

I got this with my new system. So far it has been nothing but trouble. Very difficult to program and changes temperature of it's own accord instead of following a program.

The lithium battery is junk and yes we did have it professionally installed when we purchased our heat pump/ air conditioning. 3 have went out in 18 months. Stay away!!!

Wireless connect terrible

Fan Runs Continuously

In April 2021, a contractor installed the VisionPro 8000 with a Goodman GSZC heat pump for cooling and heating. For the heating and cooling mode, the fan and heat pump would run continuously (6 hours straight) even though the temperature has been reached. I don't understand why the fan and heat pump continue to run when the temperature set point has been reached. An explanation would be appreciated. We do not have a humidifier nor dehumidifier connected to system that would activate the fan. These parameters have been deactivated in the thermostat.
