extremely poor reliability - do not buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have owned this less than 6 years and for the 2nd time in the past year, the fridge and freezer have stopped working, same problem. The first time, the part was covered under warranty as it was less than 5 years but not this time. BUYER BEWARE. Also, the shelves are poor quality and most of them have broken/cracked/chipped over time or the trim has come off them and they won't hold any appreciable weight.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Five years then out:(

Sadly, as others have written, my Bosch refrigerator suddenly died after only five years of light use in a household of two adults.
Purchased it new and within a couple of years the LED lights for the water dispenser began to flicker and eventually went out completely but everything else ran fine so we just went without the luxury of light when getting a glass of water.
The other day we came home to an alarm beeping from the fridge. The panel reported that the freezer temperature had dropped. Opening the freezer door revealed that everything was warmed and thawed. The fridge side still was barely cool. I could hear the fan running when the door was closed but it was not cooling. We cooked everything we could but a lot of wasted food had to be thrown out.
I came to this site looking for the product manual when I read all these bad reviews which unfortunately have been true of my experience as well. This was my first Bosch appliance and it is also the first refrigerator I have ever had fail.
Rather than waste money and time with attempted repairs, I simply went to the local store and purchased a replacement delivered the next day. Bye-bye Bosch, you really let me down:(

GREAT FOR SEVEN YEARS

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE ALL THE FEATURES AND HAVE ENJOYED THEM SINCE MY PURCHASE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2011. HOWEVER, I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT AFTER I RETURNED FROM A VACATION LAST WEEK, IT NEEDED A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR; THE CIRCUIT BOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT IS AGAIN WORKING AS IT SHOULD, BUT ORIGINALLY BOUUGHT THIS BRAND BASED ON ITS FEATURES AS WELL AS ITS RELIABLITY LONG TERM.

WORST POSSIBLE DESIGN

Words cannot express how much I hate this refrigerator after I wasted a half hour and bloodied my hand trying unsuccessfully to change the water filter crammed into an impossibly small space. How I hate this refrigerator!

Doors won't stay closed!

Biggest issue is the freezer door pops open every time I close the fridge. It will even pop open on it's own sometimes. I've made sure it is level, cleaned the seals, etc.
Then there's the ice maker. More often than not the ice gets jammed in the chute and i have to fish it out. If I don't get it all, it will eventually fall out and melt on the wood floors.
The shelves on the door are cheap and cracked, sending everything on them crashing to the ground.
The freezer is too narrow to fit a frozen pizza.
It is SO LOUD! It makes a gargling sound all the time.
The button interface on the door is so slow to respond and seems completely unnecessary.
I will avoid Bosch in the future.
