Poor Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Built a new house completed in Nov 2010. All Bosch appliances in the kitchen. Refrigerator is a BIG disappointment. If frost builds up in back of ice holder it quits making ice. You don't know all the ice is gone until none comes out. Inverter board went out one month before warranty expired. Interior light bulbs are European standard - G14 base. Only available on internet. Now all the LED lights have gone out in the ice/water dispenser opening with absolutely no info on the internet on how to replace them. Should be simple - but no info. Shouldn't have to place a service call to replace some simple lights. Also bought a downdraft exhaust fan for an island cooktop - it doesn't have enough strength to exhaust food cooking odors.

Looks great but......

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After almost four years the odd noises continue both while it is running and while idle and the dings in the thin stainless steel doors keep showing up. I clean the compressor coil 4 times a year due to the small round design and it takes over an hour due to the limited space and difficulty with access. the water filters are way overpriced so changing them is greatly reduced causing unhealthy water and ice. The water and ice fill do not work if the filter is removed.
Interior cleaning is difficult due to bin re-installation and I am skilled with repair and maintenance of machines.
Freezer space hard to work with even using vacu seal bags to reduce size of containers.

This refrigerator looks very sleek but will cost us more money in repairs than the actual cost. We have only had it for 2 years and had to repair it twice already and replace the ice maker. Add that to the microwave that we had to fix - I would never buy bosch appliances again

I actually like this fridge, but...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this fridge for a few years now (purchased in 2012). I have to say I do love the freezer drawer and the freezer itself keeps a very consistent temp that's less likely to freezer burn food. Generally I'd give it a 4 if it weren't for the repairs... One ice maker unit was replaced under warranty and when the LED lights in the ice dispenser went out, the whole front control unit need to be replaced. Granted, the replacement was an improved version of what we had, but it was disappointing to pay for it. Have had no problem at all with the shelves - they are sturdy and adjustable. We put heavy items on there as well.
Bosch service was very prompt and professional, but unless the company improves the quality of the parts, I would hesitate buying another fridge. Our Bosch dishwasher has been fine.

Surprisingly spacious!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased a month ago and am very happy with how spacious it is. Fruits and vegetables stay fresh longer than previous refrigerator. Only negative is that it's difficult to open the very bottom drawer unless the door is absolutely all the way open. Just a matter of getting used to that. Sleek, really great look.

Holding our breath

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We updated our kitchen in fall of 2013 will all Bosch appliances. They look great. The refrigerator was the first to disappoint. The internal capacity is limited with some tight spaces at the top inside and bottom door and crisper, probably due to being cabinet depth. Glad we had a space to keep our old refrigerator! The ice maker is the primary concern. We totally avoid the ice crusher feature as it clogs up. We have found a "fix" for the failure of the ice-maker shut-off feature which rarely works; it overfills and the little bar does not raise up. We have to place a folded towel under the bar when we know it is full, and remove it when it is time to again make more ice. We followed the directions to the tee for a vacation stop, including turning off the water line more than 8 hours before putting the unit "on vacation." When we returned there was solid ice throughout the freezer that must have formed from water expanding into the freezer from the water line. Per installation instructions, we had a water cut off placed behind the unit; however the unit is too heavy to pull out to turn off the water (and the tile floor too vulnerable). We had the plumber put in another cut-off under the kitchen in the basement so we could get to it without having to move the refrigerator; this made the length of line from the cut-off to the refrigerator about 4 feet longer. In any case, we are holding our breath, waiting for our constant vigilance to wane and the unit to break. We read that others have had similar problems with the ice maker feature. We are getting along with it and hope it holds up as the refrigerator does work well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] But our B22CS80SNS Refrigerator has several design issues and 18 months into ownership has lost the ability the refrigerate and freeze. And...Very standard containers simply do not fit. It as if the BCS line was designed for consumers somewhere else. The door shelves are very bulky and have very large clearances from the interior of the cabinet. So they hold little and leave allot of dead air inside the Refer. The drawers and shelves are made of very brittle plastic with ill fitting even more brittle grey trim. Several pieces have cracked and I glued some of the trim to the shelves so it would stay put. The lower drawers on both doors are useless. The ice maker on the cube setting spits out a half dozen cubes in a fraction of a second. A ring of LED's illuminates a spot where you would think drinking water would come out. But No. It spits out onto the floor from a spot in front of the LED ring. Ha Ha? The covers over the produce drawers are ill fitting. On the pus side it is attractive, Bosch matches the stainless grain on their appliances well, And It is reasonably
quiet. And the really bad news? It has gradually stopped working. Hopefully I can find a fix. Do not buy this model if it is still for sale. Sorry Bosch.

Very Poor Reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Control panel stopped working with 6 months. Replaced. Ice-maker quit working after 1 year. Appears to work temporarily if I completely defrost fridge. An appliance dealer warned me against purchasing Bosch because of reliability issues. Should have listened. Have steered several remodels of friends away from Bosch.
