I finally had to replace my original Zagg rugged book after my granddaughter cracked it five years ago by dropping it on some rocks. The crack ultimately exposed the hinge as I kept using my IPad but, seriously, there was no question in my mind I would replace the cover with the exact same thing. This rugged book cover survived four grandkids and numerous vacations. It's solid as a rock, lightweight compared to many others, and fits my IPad like a glove. My keyboard lasted roughly three years between charges and I was always surprised when it ran out of battery life because I literally forgot about needing to charge it, it lasted so long! It's a great product!

It appears to be good solid protection. The keyboard works well. It is difficult to adjust the tilt of the screen. It doesn't seem to sit in the hinge very securely, and the hinge is firm, so it's difficult to adjust without pulling the iPad out of the hinge. Also, it would be nice to be able to set the iPad in the hinge in portrait position, but that is not possible.

Great keyboard and cover. Zagg made this one right. I’ve had three keyboards on my iPad Pro over the past few years. This one is made to last and provides outstanding protection. Hinge much improved over previous version that I owned. The only thing missing is a track pad. Easy set up via Bluetooth. Unit is a bit heavy but worth it for the added protection. Perfect fit for my iPad Pro 11”.

The hinges are working more smoothly on this newer unit than a previous unit where the hinge resistance eventually caused the plastic portion of the hinge to fail… prompting need for a replacement unit.

I read some reviews that say the Rugged Book makes the iPad feel a bit heavy. YES, GIVE ME ALL OF THAT! This is the Rugged Book after all. Not the “Cheap Flimsy Book”! By far the best iPad case I’ve ever owned, and I used to be a Catalyst customer. Zagg has them beat in terms of impact protection.
