This is a very sturdy keyboard cover for a new Apple iPad Air. I would say though, that it has added a lot of bulk and weight to something that began as slim and lightweight. For me, that’s a bit of a negative. I’m pretty sure you could drop, but never break, your iPad with this cover over it though.

only criticism is that the rubber covering the port for the charging cord is too stiff. Left as is, it will eventually damage the cord, port or both. I cut it out to avoid damage. Other than that i couldnt be happier with it. I would also love to see this product include a touch pad on the keyboard, THEN it would be perfect!

If you have an iPad Pro go somewhere else. It took me an hour just to get the iPad into the unit, and it’s still doesn’t fit properly. I have to peel the corner so I can access the buttons just to turn it off. It may work for a regular iPad but not a pro.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because this is my second one. They have a tendency to get sloppy over time. The plastic “cradle” that holds the ipad gets stretched and no longer holds the ipad tight.

As far as the detachable keyboard aspect goes, I like it, although it is a little tough to set the ipad back into the keyboard hinge correctly. The keyboard itself works well so far. Being able to put it on both ways for using the iPad like a little movie theater stand one way as well as doing work on it is awesome. But the case on the ipad itself is disappointing. I was hoping for a rugged case, as the name suggests, but it is mediocre at best. I was hoping for a case that was going to rival an Otterbox case. I would also like to see a flap to keep water and dust out of the USB C port. And the apple pencil holder is quite flimsy. I hope to see improvements in the next generation of rugged book cases
