It prints RED

I tried everything. Different programs different papers. I used all Canon equipment, software, ink, and paper, but alas, this printer still printed with an over-saturation of red. Especially noticeable in skin tones. I wish I could find a printer that prints true to the eye. I know monitors are back-lit so you won't get what you see there, and I know that the human eye can see more colors than inks can reproduce, but there are a lot of commercial prints that look more real than what this printer is capable of!
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, sharp pictures, good customer service, wireless works well
Cons: Slow Print Speed, prints everything over saturated with red!, not many options for scanning, can't save presets!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Networking issues abound

I am not happy with the Canon MG5220 printer. When I first installed it, it installed fine. Then about a month later I got a new router and desktop. I cannot get it to hook up to my NEW system because it still remembers my OLD system. I cannot find a way to fix this issue, so I have to carry the printer to another room and hook it up to my OLD computer to scan from it. This is totally unacceptable, when everything else in my new network just works. I wish I could return it, but it's too late for that.
Next, it consumes the Pigment Black cartridges but doesn't seem to use the other black cartridge. So I have to keep ordering Pigment black even though I have a full cartridge of regular black. I have not found a way to tell it which black to use. All around, I really, really dislike this printer and probably will avoid buying another Canon printer in the future.
Pros: Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Large Footprint, Difficult Setup, High Ink Consumption

All in one?

This is NOT an all-in-one. All-in-ones have fax capability.
This is a decent printer, scanner and copier for the money.
The software is buggy to install and the network setup is overly complicated. For instance, how exactly do you enter your network passkey? There's no keyboard onscreen.
Apparently this is unimportant. Unless you want to use it.

Very Frustrated...
on April 22, 2012

I bought this product about 3 months ago, and when I first set it up, everything worked, even printing from a wireless connection to a laptop. Since the first time I used it, it has stopped printing wirelessly, it will not print any .pdf or word document. It will not line up the way it looks on the computer or even print a .gif. This is frustrating me to no end. It may be well priced, but when you have limited funds and you put your trust and money into a product, you expect to have it work they way the company says it will. I will never buy another product from this company.

RED

Bought this printer to replace another brand that advertises quality photo printing (can't mention brand). The other one was printing B&W with a red cast. Turns out this one is almost as bad for B&W as the other one and color prints are much redder from the printer than they show on the screen. The other one does color much truer.
Straightforward copying is too complicated on this one--too many options.
