1st Canon printer purchase

This was my first Canon multi-purpose printer purchase. I did a pretty comprehensive review of other multi-function machines prior to my decision plus reliance on user review(s). So far my use of the printer(functions available) has been excellent. Overall, the installation process was easily done. I did find it necessary to download the newest version of my internet security as my original edition was "blocking" wireless access to the new printer. Colors are bright & clarity is excellent. I would think an excellent investment for relatively low volumn use around home or small office.
Pros: Easy Setup, durable, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use

Best Photo Printer I Have Ever Had

This printer is great. It was very easy to set up and it worked fine right out of the box. Having recently returned from a vacation in Europe, and being an avid photographer, I wanted to print out the hundreds of photographs I took. The printing software allows you to choose paper size and edit the image for the appropriate size paper, as well as make minor corrections. The prints themselves are wonderful! The quality is true-to-life, the colors are real, and you truly cannot distinguish printed photos from those from a drugstore. I printed both 4x6 inch and 8x10" and all were flawless. Changing the ink is a snap and the system warns you when a cartridge needs to be changed, right now. No wasted ink. In short I love this printer. It is quiet, fast, takes up a small amount of room and prints excellent photos. What is not to like?

ink is expensive

I hate this printer. ink is expensive and runs out to fast. I will never buy this printer again. I have told all my friends and family how expensive and unreliable

The cost is amazing when you shop around for it. This unit has replaced one of the older top form feeder units. I love the front loading paper tray and back tray combo. The unit blends in well with my HDTV entertainment unit. It is easy to use. WHile it is not touch screen like the upper more expensive same resolution model, the navigation buttons, and selection wheel is easy enough to figuare out I did not even need the manual to set up the Wifi. It does in FACT work with the Canon android app. which makes it easy to scan from your phone, or print pictures you take on your phone over the wifi.
Quality of prints are great, the speed is great. It prints both sides without the need to flip a stack and reload pages. Paper makes a difference in photo prints.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use, modern sleek look for any set-up, reliable easy to setup onscreen wifi
Cons: not the smallest of printers, not touch screen, documentation for set up not the best

I have been using this printer for one month. The set up was easy and quick as was the WiFi. The best thing I love about this printer is that it prints beautiful photos. It is very quiet. I am very pleased with this purchase. I haven't had to change any ink yet so don't know how quickly it is used up, but every printer I researched had this complaint. I couldn't ask for better at the reasonable price I paid.
Pros: photo print quality, easy set up, quiet
Cons: scanning is slow

I really like how easy it is to use. I was experimenting with the menu functions and I decided I wanted to make a calendar. You follow very simple steps and it is done in minutes. The calendar is so nice and personalized. I love it!
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed

I never thought about a Canon printer before even tho I've had a half dozen Canon cameras and I've been pleased with all of them. My previous printer was dying and I wanted a printer with accurate color, good resolution and separate ink tanks. The guy at the store directed me to my MG5220 and I'm thrilled with it. I print reproductions of my paintings for my portfolio presentations and I need color accuracy and good resolution. I couldn't be happier with the results I've had!
Pros: Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use
Cons: Large Footprint, Flimsy Construction

I really love my new printer. I specifically chose this brand because of the separate ink cartridges so I would only have to replace the color that is empty. So far I have printed several hundred printings and only replaced one black ink cartridge. The set-up could not have been easier. It was pretty much ready to go out of the box. The only thing that I can criticize is the size....it is sort of bulky. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommended this item to anyone.

Cons: Heavy/Bulky
