I wanted a griddle for pancakes and bacon. I received the Cuisinart Griddler as a Christmas gift. I was so excited at what this griddler could do and couldn’t wait to try it out. It took a very long time to cook a pound of bacon and i had it set on high. I could have cooked it faster in a pan so this was very disappointing. I had no trouble with pancakes however. I haven’t used it as a panini griddle as yet so i cannot comment on that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I normally grill outside in the Winter, even living in North Eastern Idaho, but have come to LOVE this indoor grill! The cleanup is better than I ever imagined it would be. Haven't even used anything, but the spray on our faucet! No brushes or???

I like the way the griddler cooks. However, the grill plates, even though made from non-stick material, are hard to clean. The non-stick coating isn't smooth, so food sticks to it. The dishwasher never gets the grill plates completely clean. I go ahead and hand wash them with a Dobie pad and skip the dishwasher. I bought this to limit the time I have to stand in the kitchen, due to a disability. Standing at the sink washing the Griddler takes a lot longer than washing a small non-stick fry pan. :-( I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend.
