The Griddler is a versatile and easy to use counter-top cooker. It is easy to clean and functions very well although it does not have uniform heat on either cooking surface. There are cooler and warmer regions on each cooking surface. My infrared thermometer revealed that the base runs about 25 degrees F lower on average than the setpoint selected, and the upper cooking surface is around 40 degrees F lower on average than setpoint. Removable cooking plates are easy to clean and the unit is compact and easy to store when not in use.

One of the buttons on the release plates broke off after two uses. Surprised, especially since it is a Cuisinart and expected it to be much higher quality. I still like it and we have used it several times with the broken plate release button.

Bought this because a friend of mine has one. Had another brand sandwich press which was ok. This Griddler is much better, more versatile and heats more evenly, and I love the temperature control. I really like that you can reverse the non stick plates and with do sandwiches with grill marks or pancakes on the griddle plates. I also like that you can remove the plates for washing, my other press couldn't do that. I'm very happy with the Griddler. My friend has a really old one but it's still going strong and making great sandwiches.

The griddle is a joke. I got rid of mine after I bought this and I am sorry. Pancakes just sit there and don't cook. Not enough steady heat
