It is a good product and works as advertised. I like the hinge design and was the primary reason for choosing this product. The top and bottom grill plates make even contact with the food. The grill plates are easily removed and cleaned in the dishwasher taking up no more space than a large plate and that's a huge plus compared to some of the competition.
4 - stars would have been earned had the lip around the edges been 2mm higher to ensure juices room without running over the edge. Another option would have been to create a 20mm slope with front being higher to force juices to run to opening for catch tray.
5 - stars would have been earned had the dials been done more clearly. Why not simply make the dials a slight bit smaller and have 4 of them:
# 1 - Bottom On/Off
# 2 - Bottom Temperature
# 3 - Top On/Off
# 4 - Top Temperature
# 1 - Bottom On/Off
# 2 - Bottom Temperature
# 3 - Top On/Off
# 4 - Top Temperature

I purchased my second Griddler after an issue with a non-replaceable part on the first one. I noted several design changes in this one that I believe make the unit better. I have always found the Griddler to be a versatile kitchen product and enjoy using it very much.

This product is well worth the money. Actually one of the best investments I have made. Cooking for my perpetually hungry son and I, we have become obsessed with Pannini's. But that is not all, I can cook chicken breast, steak, roast pork in no time at all and it always comes out perfect. I load and press the food them stick a thermometer in from the side and pull the food as soon as it reaches our desired temperature. Its super easy to clean and maintain and cooks very uniformly. They mention that the food should be of the same height, but I find some tolerance to this and use the press to make sure I have the best contact. The only comment or advice I would have is that with thicker food, typically I will push lightly on the front of the top cover when initially pressing the food. Sometimes the press will hit the back first and the top plate will not be sitting level against the different height. But by engaging the front with a wooden spoon or something, I insure that the press is uniform. Works every time. Chicken breasts in 13 minutes to 165F. fast an efficient cooking. Can't go wrong with this. Bought a second for my family in Florida.

Loved the idea that the panels are removable for cleaning. But the top (rear) panel, when used as a griddle was not level. No matter what I tried, that panel simply would not sit flat. It leans toward the center of the appliance. I cracked an egg on it, and the egg ran into the drain. The drains are too small and clog. The edges of the panels are too low and so any grease (such as from bacon) splatters all over the appliance and the counter it sits on. Nice idea but poorly designed and executed. I returned it after three attempts at use.

I bought this to replace a panini grill that had for awhile. The main reason I chose this model by Cuisinart is because of the fact that The plates detached from the grill and can be hand washed or can go in the dishwasher. My last grill was a real pain in the butt to clean. This will make your life so much easier.

It is good for Panini butt as far as bacon and other things that has grease it do not drain properly there's not enough space for degrees to drain and it spills off the back of the griddle when pushing away the grease.👎🏿
