This was my second one and it is just perfect for cooking for two of us and I think we wore it out so I just purchased the Griddler with smoke-less mode. We will have the older one as a second griddler when needed for larger meals/family.

This is a replacement purchase. Changes from my old griddler include reversible plates so need to store one set of grill plates when using the other, plates are interchangeable so need to worry about bottom plates and upper plates, there is a built-in drip pan that collects grease much more efficiently and finally the top plates can be adjusted to open wider allowing for a panini sandwich to be grilled. Only complaint is that the temperature control for panini is words and not actual temperatures, so it is harder to finger out a good cooking temperature. The griddle control does list temperatures and probably can be used as a guide when using the grill/panini side.
