I'm not 100% happy with this grill. The lid is not balanced properly so when you put a sandwich in the middle of the plate and try to lower the top it lowers on the back and pushes the sandwich out the front. It's too hot to touch to try and rectify this situation.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Finally a product that over delivers on what it stated rather than underperforming. The build quality is excellent. The quick release for the plates is ingenious. When the light turns green you know it’s at the desired temperature. Make the grill marks on the finish product is literally a signature of perfection. You get the back yard look on the meat all year round, but without the unpredictable weather, breakfast is a breeze. No oil needed which is a healthy option. This is a product I wish I purchased years ago. Cuisinart means quality and innovation,
