Works well as advertised. Great for paninis but not much else. A little disappointed that to convert it into a waffle iron you have to separately source waffle iron griddles. Waffle griddles for this model are not easy to find and end up being an accessory that is almost as expensive as the original unit especially once you factor in shipping costs. If you want waffles it may be cheaper to just buy a purpose built waffle iron rather than thinking about the practical idea of stocking different griddles, a feature that helped me to decide to purchase this unit in the first place.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
