The grill makes for easy cleanup,the grill plates fit in the sink to wash. The only problem i experienced was the light to tell you it reached temp sometimes does not operate.

It would be better if you had the option of heating the lid/press platform or not. Sometimes, you do not want to toast both sides of a piece of bread. Also, an indicator light that let's the user know when it is safe to get near/handle the Griddler after it has been used, like many stove tops have these days. Lastly, the lid/press hinge could be a little stiffer, or the lid to be heavier to help maintain light pressure while cooking, and not have to stand there an manually apply light pressure.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very versatile and fun to use. I even did a steak on it. The one issue I have found is when opened flat it doesn't heat up well on the top half and works well only when it's on high heat and allowed to heat up. As a press it's very nice.
