This is a repeat buy. I was lazy and we didn't keep our older griddler as clean as we could. The plates got scratched up and coating scrubbed off. I bought waffle plates tonie with it an decided what the heck, buy another griddler. I had couple of instances where the old ones heating controls were suspect. I didn't trust it to not be hitting out so I replaced it although I used the waffle plates on it first nd it worked great.

I actually like the product I also bought the larger unit as well. The Elite. My only comment would be I wish the larger unit was able to use for waffles. I probably wouldn't have bought both if the elite made waffles.

This works quite well as a press. The open griddle option is less desirable. There appears to be an issue with keeping the temperature while it is in open griddle mode. The heat keeps shutting off and it does not maintain the temperature and it has to be reset to continue heating almost constantly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Definitely hotter on the bottom, but I love it for panini and grilling chicken and veg. Top will not hover, so no way to melt open face sandwiches.

I love this grill, being able to open and lay flat using both sides is fantastic . It cooks food evenly without making a mess. The cleaning up of the grill is so simple. The removable plates are the best. I would get another one just like it if the one i have was to stop working. Such a great grill at a great price!!!!
