Since our previous paninni press (by a brand other than Cuisinart) was hinged at the rear, we particularly like Cuisinart's feature that the top press can "swivel" a bit, resulting in grilling sandwiches evenly. Secondly, we like the fact that the Cuisinart Griddler can open fully to 180-degrees flat, so we can use double the space if needed. We also like that the plates are double-sided, with one for grilling and one for toasting/frying. The plates are removable and can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
All-in-all, we are much happier with the Cuisinart Griddler than our previous paninni press.

Great support . Used griddle for past 3.5 years. Unfortunately stopped worked while grilling fish. Contacted support and they are very helpful. Provided the replacement as it is on warranty. Received the replacement Griddler in around 3 weeks.
