Heavy Duty enough for a DIY upholstery job.

I just bought this model recently so I could repair some very old vinyl upholstered chairs. I did some research and read some reviews, and it looked like this model and others in the Singer Heavy Duty series would work and be able to sew through four layers of marine vinyl. So, I made the purchase, bought heavy duty needles, a piping pressure foot, and some T70 nylon thread. I was successful on my test run using the old fabric. I'm very pleased and will now purchase new vinyl and complete the repair. I have a very old Singer 6234 (it is 38 years old) that still works well, but I didn't feel it could handle this upholstery repair. This machine and all materials will cost about the same as the quote we received from and upholstery shop for the repair and taking the DIY route will allow me to walk away with a new sewing machine.after the repair and have a capability I didn't have before.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in love with my Singer Heavy Duty 6380 Sewing Machine! Singer has honestly knocked the ball out of the park with this particular machine! I kid you not!! This sewing machine has quickly become my best friend, it truly is a work horse. It has so many features that make sewing more fun and not seem like a chore. It's compact and lightweight, comes pre threaded, has an extension table that's included, 110 stitch applications making it ideal for thick fabric or really almost any fabric, makes sewing denim a breeze, offers 50% more power and extra high sewing speed makes sewing fun! The best part is the company is one we've all come to know and love with any/all of our sewing needs as they've been around for many, many years. In fact some of my best memories have their products in them. If you are looking for that perfect sewing machine I strongly urge you to give this one a few stitches and you to will see why I love it so much! The only problem I have is keeping my teenage daughter's paws off of my machine..joking! Honestly it's allowed me and her to make so many projects for her 4-H group in school and many other projects around our home, especially curtains and quilting!

Nice machine i think. Would be much better if itcame with some kind of start up directions. It tells how to thread a needle and install the bobin and prepare to sew...beyond that...well all i end up with is a lump of thread in a piece of material. Some day i will get to a computer with printer to download supposed directions to sew.

I bought it as a gift and it did not work at first. It was like it was not plugged in. I was ready to return it when i found the problem. A piece of foam packaging was stuck in where the plug goes so I was not getting any power connection. I removed the obstruction and plugged it back in. It works fine.

Good Sewing Machine

I brought the sewing machine about Feb 5, 2021. So far, when the machine is properly threaded with the correct needle it works very good. Since the 6380 is a new machine I can’t find any information on it. What is important to me is that I can’t verify if this machine has the same medal dram as the 4411/4423/4452. Is this machine a replacement for the 6330/6335 denim machine or what it is, does it stand alone. Do this machine have the same foot and cord material as the other machines listed above. In other words if the materials are the same as the other machines it should receive a rating of four stars.
