Extremely disappointed

I got this machine brand new and have never been able to get it to work right. I have taken it to the repair shop and even after having them fix it twice it still does not work. There is something off with the tension that renders it useless. Waste of money plus having to make expensive repairs that lead to nothing. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

I’m still on the fence about this machine

I’m still on the fence about this machine.. I think it’s quite loud and it makes a weird clunking noise I needed something heavy duty and I have no idea how to use the automatic needle threader. I had issues with bending my needles quite often until I turned the thread tension all the way down to 2 and it seems to work better now ,but it is a bit noisy.. I do like the extension shelf that it came with because I work with a lot of heavy materials and it helps a lot. The light isn’t very bright either so I’ve had to add a little bit of rope light underneath it. All in all it’s not a bad machine but they sure don’t make them like they used to.

Don't waste your time and money!

Had an old Singer for 35 years until it finally gave up the ship, so thought for sure by buying another Singer I'd be happy. From day one, I had trouble with the stitching. It would sew for an inch or two, and then 'catch' and the thread would bunch up in a mess of loops and tangles underneath. Finally took it to a repair shop and was told it was the machine, not me! Tried different threads, new needles, nothing worked. Returning this machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this sewing machine!!! I have been sewing for several years now, and have never been more pleased with a sewing machine. It’s does a fantastic job on all fabrics including denim, wool, and heavy duty cotton. This particular machine come with the most needed tools and accessories, plus a free sewing tutorial. It is easy to thread and assemble right out of the box, and the foot touch pedal makes the process hand free and effortless! I highly recommend this product.

Terrific machine, but cheap foot pedal and cord.

I just received this machine today, and was really happy with it, except for the very cheap foot pedal and cord, which is much less substantial than my old 4411. It’s flimsy, hard to plus into and remove from the machine, and the pedal is unreliable.

Great sewing through heavy fabric

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this machine 7/23/2021. Not much time to use before review due by 8/4/2021. My project was a bag made from upholstery fabric with a cotton liner. Machine sewed great on both fabrics. Used the provided Jeans needle for the heavy fabric. Very little problems going through several layers. It would have been helpful if the presser foot could have higher clearance by as I tried to feed thick seams under to begin project. Also the speed was fine sewing long straight seams but would have been helpful if I could have set it to a slower speed working around circle edges. The foot peddle a little stiff so more pressure resulted in a fast speed. Light weight. Easy to move to table and attachable table great for sewing larger pieces together. The removable base producing a narrow swing arms worked great when sewing around the circular areas of bag. Liked the movable needle position. I could use the wide foot to help hold seams together yet move needle to the right to produce the 1/4 seam I wanted. I also used the overcast foot on my edges for smooth edge. I have difficulty seeing small things so the self threaded is perfect for my eye Sight. The only reason I rated this a 4 instead of a 5 was the height of presser foot clearance making it difficult to get thick seams started. I usually do quilt piecing so it will have no problems with those projects. Easy to start sewing right out of th o

Heavy Duty enough for a DIY upholstery job.

I just bought this model recently so I could repair some very old vinyl upholstered chairs. I did some research and read some reviews, and it looked like this model and others in the Singer Heavy Duty series would work and be able to sew through four layers of marine vinyl. So, I made the purchase, bought heavy duty needles, a piping pressure foot, and some T70 nylon thread. I was successful on my test run using the old fabric. I'm very pleased and will now purchase new vinyl and complete the repair. I have a very old Singer 6234 (it is 38 years old) that still works well, but I didn't feel it could handle this upholstery repair. This machine and all materials will cost about the same as the quote we received from and upholstery shop for the repair and taking the DIY route will allow me to walk away with a new sewing machine.after the repair and have a capability I didn't have before.
