I bought this when my old waffle maker gave out. It works well and the features are nice. I like waffles that are on the more, well-done side. It seems that I have to let it go for 2 cycles and the waffles are just right. Over all it works well and I'm happy with the performance of the machine.

I bought Cuisinart brand because it has a good reputation. I have found that it is not very sturdy - the hinge is loose but did not effect the finished product. What would be helpful would be a handle on each side so I could move or adjust it. I had to put the temperature higher than you recommended to get crisp waffles. I put it up to 4.5 and then they were crispy on the outside the way we like them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My girlfriend bought this for me as a birthday gift and I love it. It works great and cooks fast and even.
Pros: fast, Nonstick, compact
Cons: Metal stainless steel outer shell gets very hot
They really need to stamp on to the metal top shell that it is hot and do not touch it. The first time I used it I touched the top and burnt the heck out of my finger.
