This waffle maker produces waffles just like the one's my mother used to make, almost 70 years ago. It's not as heavy as that machine was, but the waffle are evenly cooked, reasonably quickly, and the red light--green light system is easy to work with. The green means that the thermostat has switched off, so one needn't leap to pull out the freshly cooked waffle. The waffle's are the old fashion half inch thick variety, not the Belgian thick-for-fancy snack type.
The unit is mercifully devoid of bells and whistles, no Siri, no doubles as a panini press, it doesn't shut off until you unplug it, it doesn't play The Marseilles, and as far as i can tell, it doesn't spy on you eating breakfast. It does get hot.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I received this waffle iron as a birthday gift selected from my Wishlist by my daughter and son-in-law. My son-in-law, who is an excellent cook, looked at other waffle irons and decided that this was the best one. Of course, we used it that day and it did not disappoint.
