I do not care for Belgian waffles so I really had to shop around for a "normal" waffle maker and this one is perfect! It had the features I wanted at an irresistible price. I am very happy with it---just don't use more than 1/2 cup batter or you will have a mess on your hands. I like some crispness to my waffle so I use the setting 5.

I'm very happy that the cooking level is adjustable, but it doesn't cook the waffle evenly. Plus, the lid is pretty flimsy. I hope it holds up over time.

This is a great waffle iron. Very fast and efficient. Like the fact you can store the cord and it sits upright, taking up very little space. The waffles are cooked evenly and you can adjust how brown you want them. Great purchase.

Works great, minus the non-stick chemical smell

Works great, once the non-stick chemical smell goes away which is after the first dozen or so cooking attempts. Out of the box there was a smell that comes off of the waffle maker. We then plugged it in to heat up and wipe down in the hopes that the smell would go away but it didn't. We ended up plugging it into an outdoor socket and let heat up for 10 min then wipe and repeat for an hour but the smell was still noticeable. Once we started making waffles (we tossed the first couple just in case), the smell seemed to fade. We don't smell it now and use it regularly. It does cook on the faster side so do keep an eye on your waffles the first couple of times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Feels very cheap. The lid wobbles because the hinge is not tight. The cook control lever is very loose and has to be rest with each use. The heating element has hot spots, making it impossible to get a uniformly cooked waffle. Worst of all, the housing gets dangerously hot! Only the handle stays cool. You can actually fry an egg on the closed lid while cooking a waffle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love waffles for breakfast or with chicken strips. I just bought this second waffle maker to make enough that would stay warm for a group. It's inexpensive, easy to use and the waffles cook quickly and are better tasting and textured than in a restaurant.
