I originally bought this waffle maker many years ago, and recently the heating element in the lid failed so I bought a replacement. I think this is a fantastic waffle iron for the following reasons:
1) It's circular. It's so much easier to get good results with a circular (versus rectangular) waffle iron. Rectangular ones are hard to get dosed properly which ends up creating irregular waffles as the corners don't get filled with batter.
2) It's powerful. It heats up very quickly and waffles cook quickly
3) It heats very evenly
4) It has an adjustable temperature setting that actually works.
5) It's simple and free off gimmicky features that aren't needed

I make small batches of waffles and this is perfect for me. I am not trying to feed a hungry, growing family of 5! This design is perfect for a single or couple who make waffles for breakfast and don't need a huge machine for larger batches. It is easy to clean and small enough to store without taking up a lot of space. I highly recommend this Round Classic Waffle Maker.

It was difficult to find a non-Belgian, classic waffle maker. This does the job. But why is it so cheaply made? I would have been willing to pay significantly more for a sturdy appliance. The lid is twisty and wobbly. And the setting knob and light do absolutely nothing. A disappointing product that, as previously said, does do the job. Instead of three stars, I actually give this one shrug.
