We use it to make waffles with Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix and they come out quickly and consistently evenly cooked. I've not noticed it being too hot on the counter top and the handle is sufficiently large to keep me from getting too close to the hot part of the griddle. The distribution of weight keeps the griddle from flipping backward and form falling to either side. The heat gauge appropriately browns the waffles to our liking (4 to 4.5).

I like the compact design of this waffle maker. It does not take up much room in the cupboard. It is supposed to stand upright, but it keeps falling over, so I had to store it flat rather than upright. It gets nice and hot and makes good waffles quickly, with consistent browning. I have to spray it with cooking spray (like Pam) between waffles - otherwise they stick. I am grateful for this a waffle maker that makes classic, rather than Belgian waffles, because I prefer classic waffles. The price was great for what it does.

It’s easy to use and stores very well. A waffle takes about 1.5 minutes and they are great. We just did a waffle bar for a granddaughter’s 3rd birthday and made the job easy
