There is a lot of play in the doneness setting lever. Never sure where exactly it is set. But somewhere between 2 and 4 we assume. And the "heavy" top isn't that heavy so the bottom side gets much more done than the top

The heat setting switch just sort of floats and is too easily moved therefore you must pay close attention to the setting or you may undercook or overcook. Otherwise, it makes great waffles and is easy to use and store. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.

I like this waffle maker. It doesn't have much of a lip, so be careful when you pour and let the bottom level cook a little before closing the lid. But man, it sure cooks the waffles fast!
