I gave 4 stars because of one "flaw". The lid isn't heavy enough and/or is doesn't latch down. I feel the spread and cooking would be more even if the afore mentioned was added. I like the different options for doneness, as I prefer my waffles on the crisper side. Overall a good little waffle maker, and well worth the money.

We have only used this waffle maker once, so I am hoping that the next time will go better. Having followed all directions, we found that the waffles stuck a bit and cooked unevenly. The machine is a bit wobbly where it connects top to bottom.

I like this waffle iron. It was relatively inexpensive, but works quite well. I would recommend it, but with two cautions: This first is the setting knob for light to dark. Once you find the setting you like (I use 3), you are set. But the knob has a lot of play in it, so it does not feel exact. The second issue seems to be the same for all waffle irons these days: they rely upon a light to tell you when to add the mix and when it is done. It functions fine but I would prefer an audible whistle (my old one had one), so I don’t have to watch the thing like a hawk. I would prefer to read the morning news until I hear something instead of having to look every ten seconds at it
