I am 73 (female) and set up this unit by myself in my garage window. The garage is 650 sq ft and it's a cool 72 degrees. I make baskets out of rope and have to work with 900 degree soldering irons. When it's 100 degrees in Texas in July it's not possible to work in a garage without suffering. This AC unit is the answer to many an old lady's prayers. So easy to install. I only needed my son to lift it in place and I did all of the rest. Thank you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 12,000 BTU U-shaped air conditioner by media is amazing! The air conditioner cools a very large room quickly. I love thats it's fairly quiet. And I love love love this design! It's simple to install and with the window being able to come down into the U shaped spot allows for minimal out side exposure. The set up was just as simple. Over all this air conditioner is perfect for what we need.

Best air conditioner EVER!

I love this Air conditioner! I've had it now for a couple of years and it functions amazingly. The ability to raise the wondow with the air conditioner still in is great and the app makes it super easy to turn on or off my unit when I'm away! I can also set schedules for the air conditioner to function automatically without having to worry if I turned it on before I left home! The remote that came with it however, has not ever worked. It's like it doesn't link to my a.c. and the clean filter notification is always on when I open the app even after I've just cleaned it and even tho you clear the notification it comes right back but aside from those 2 issues there been nothing except excellent performance from this unit. The notification is nothing and i dont need a remote with the app! I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and I will buy this exact same unit in the future when it needs replaced. I highly recommend this brand and model air conditioning unit.

Love the A/C features and the App to control it

This will be my second season with the Midea 12,000 BTU A/C which I actually run it in my bedroom upstairs along with another 2 5,000 BTU A/Cs (not Midea) in 2 other bedrooms.
Being my house is a 120 year old stucco house it can be extremely warm upstairs during the summer months. Especially in my bedroom with is the entire back of the south side of the house. Can we say WARM! Well, after I had gotten the Midea 12,000 BTU I couldn't believe how cool my room was and how it actually cooled the stairs, bathroom, and hallway (when I put a fan in my doorway to circulate the air) as well as reduce the stress on the other two A/Cs.
I'd also like to mention that Alexa can control the device too. Love it!

Works great until the mold arrives

We bought this in 2021 and despite cleaning the filter regularly and carefully installing at an appropriate tilt for proper drainage, we found significant black mold build up inside the blower. After watching some youtube videos it was clear we either had to remove the compressor risking coolant leakage to properly clean it or... throw it out and replace it. On to the next brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Get rid of the useless metal bar underneat

Following the recall I recently replaced a Midea 12k that I’ve had for 3 years. I loved it, I had no issues with it in that time frame but my unit was moldy so I chose to get a refund. I recently got the newest model and I have to say I don’t love the changes the added. The unit still performs great but I really dislike the bar that was added on the bottom that clicks into the frame. That piece was totally unnecessary and I had to completely redrill and redo my bracket from my old unit because of it. The metal bar makes more noise if the unit is working harder and it also bends the frame piece that it slides onto if you have to take it on and off. The unit was plenty sturdy without this weird change. I wish I could pry the bar off the bottom but it’s attached to the unit instead of screwed on. PLEASE GET RID OF THIS!
Not the end of the world but don’t love the silver bar, I prefer the unit all white as it’s more discreet, silver draws more attention to it.
