I had first gen Dyson stick vacuum that was more of a toy. It was only OK and used as an accessory for tight spots and hand held in the kitchen. I hesitated to purchase a newer model, but was surprised to that the V8 is no toy, especially after adding the fluffy floor tool for my tile floor and the down under attachment. The earlier one needed to be used on Hi all the time, but I hardly need it on this V8,

battery is short lived on "Max" setting. I don't like that you have to hold the "on" trigger the whole time you are vacuuming. There should be a switch to hold trigger in "on" position

I LOVE my Dyson 8 Absolute! It is my second one…first one lasted 8 years with one battery replacement. It is lightweight, easily maneuverable, quiet and has good suction. I mostly use it for daily clean ups in between biweekly deeper cleaning.

Best cordless vacuum we’ve ever owned. Powerful, lightweight, gets in every nook and good run time. Love all the attachments. Purchased because it has a soft hardwood floor cleaner head so our new hardwood floors don’t get damaged and a rotor bar for carpet. Love it!
