The battery doesn’t last long and the heads don’t clean carpets so I’m not sure what this vacuum is for.

Great vacuum that picks up more dirt from apartment carpets than what the facility can manage to do. My only gripe about these types of vacuums is that there's no trigger lock. Sometimes my finger gets tired. Otherwise, great little machine. This style only has two modes, medium and Max, and that's just fine for me.

I bought this after many years of denying myself, an I'm so glad I did! I'm an avid cleaner and now I can vacuum my whole house in like 30 min. My favorite parts are that the vacuum is the lightest I've owned, the swivel head gets into any space and corners I need, and I love the switch from my hardwoods to carpet with the adjustment button. I didn't think being cordless would matter but I see now how much time I wasted with my old corded vacuum. This is a game changer and I will never go back. In our 1400 sqft house I can also vacuum the whol3e thing easily on one charge. No regrets!

I do enjoy my Dyson - it's the 4th one I've owned.
I wish there was a way to lock the button "on" when I vacuum, since it does seem to irritate my thumb while I use it. It picks up a BUNCH of dust and dirt that I can't even see.

We've had our Dyson v8 for a few weeks now, and we can't be happier. Things about it that we love are it really is lightweight. There is no strain at all to hold the handheld so someone who has weight limit restrictions should be able to use this with no problems. We have hardwood floors throughout our home, so the 40 minute run time is perfect. We mounted the charging base on the wall, and we love how easy it is to switch between tools. My only complaint is I wish there was a light on the cleaner head, but that doesn't stop the vacuum from getting all the dirt so it's not too big a deal.
We've wanted a Dyson for a long time, and it really was worth the wait to save up and buy one. Highly recommend if your budget allows. This model is a great entry model for new Dyson customers.
