There is so little suction on the basic setting that it is useless. You have to run it on MAX in order to achieve results. The V6 I have had for years does a better job.

I really wanted to love this but I hate it. Have to have it on Max suction or with not pick up anything, then the battery is dead after a few short minutes. I have a small house with pets and bare floor for the most part and can maybe get one room done at a time. Not good for carpet. Gave it 2 stars because it is decent for furniture. Waste of money and my time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the Dyson, very easy to handle. Only draw back is once the battery is down you can not change it out with another battery so you can finish the job. Big Drawback.

Looks great, but some surprises after purchase

I had always wanted a Dyson hand held, I have a full size Dyson upright that I've had for nearly 20 years and it still works great. On the fence about this new stick vac though.
The things I like about the V8: powerful motor, long run time, multiple attachments, easy to empty, looks good.
But the things I dislike are weighted heavy (why only 3 stars): location of handle and design of the grip are not ergonomic, full of hard edges and hard to use without a strong grip; the standard brush head won't work on even low pile carpet due to the rubber nobs on the bar; by far the biggest let down was not being able to let go of the power trigger to use the vacuum, thanks to the many others that disagree with this approach companies have come up with cheap, simple attachments that allow you to use it without constantly holder the trigger, which is very stiff and hard to hold down. If you have any issues with your grip or arthritis, beware.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very good and well engineered product. It is light, relatively quiet, easy to use, easy to clean and powerful.

Versatile but Poor suction, & plastic is wearing.

It’s quite a lot of money for very little suction. While I like the versatility of the product. The plastic attachments are already starting to wear with use (I have had mine about a month). It only came with 2 attachments. And the wall mount doesn’t support additional attachments that I will have to buy for my hard wood floors. My biggest issue is the suction. Even on max power it does not pick up every thing. I’m really torn an considering returning it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
